Sharpening the Axe

Not every day at Hill City Warriors is packed with motorcycles rolling through the door, and that's okay. The slower days are when we sharpen the axe.

Today was all about cleaning, reorganizing, making sure the shop is ready, and keeping the mission moving forward. We wrapped up a Softail seat for shipping, listed more donated parts on our eBay store (check us out at hill_city), and put our founder's Electra Glide on the lift for a brake job.

Then Murphy showed up.

We had every tool imaginable... except the one we needed. After digging through what felt like 150 sockets, including about 20 different 1/4-inch sockets, we discovered we didn't own a 12-point 1/4-inch socket. If you're planning to do brakes on an Electra Glide, consider that your public service announcement for the day. 

No worries though. Around here, setbacks just become another item on tomorrow's to-do list.

The rest of the afternoon was spent photographing and listing more donated motorcycle parts on eBay. Every part sold helps support the Hill City Warriors mission: providing a free place where riders, especially veterans, can learn, work on their motorcycles, build friendships, and find purpose one wrench at a time.
