2013 Harley-Davidson Fat Bob

We had a new visitor roll into Hill City Warriors, and Vaughn brought along his 2013 Harley-Davidson Fat Bob for a little handlebar transformation.

When Vaughn arrived, the bike was sporting the factory low bars. When he left, well... the Fat Bob had officially reached for the sky with a set of 16-inch apes. Because apparently, sometimes your handlebars need to be closer to the clouds.

Of course, changing handlebars on a Harley is never just a matter of loosening a few bolts and calling it a day. This job meant replacing and rerouting all the lines, including the clutch, throttle, and brake lines. What looked like a straightforward swap quickly turned into one of those projects where you start counting parts and wondering who invented motorcycles in the first place.

But we got everything installed, routed, reassembled, and looking good. There was just one small problem...

Time beat us.

We ran out of shop time before we could properly bleed the brakes, so Vaughn's Fat Bob

wasn't quite ready to hit the road yet. And when it comes to brakes, "close enough" isn't exactly a Hill City Warriors- approved setting.

We're normally closed on Sundays, but we're making an exception because we want to make sure Vaughn gets back on two wheels safely. Those 16-inch apes may make the bike look meaner, but we'd prefer Vaughn actually be around to enjoy them.

Welcome to the Hill City Warriors family, Vaughn! Thanks for trusting us with the Fat Bob. We enjoyed the conversation and the opportunity to let you get some wrench time on your scoot. The major part was watching that bike go from low and mild to tall and wild.

Now let's finish bleeding those brakes and get that Fat Bob back where it belongs...

On the road.
