A New Friend, an Old Sportster, and a Day Well Spent

Sometimes people come into Hill City Warriors because they need a little work done on their motorcycle. Other times, they come through the door and somehow become part of the HCW family.
Nate and his 2004 Sportster Custom are a perfect example.
After putting about 150 miles on the road together Saturday, Nate decided he wasn't quite tired of us yet. So Tuesday, he brought the Sportster back to the shop, and we put it up on the lift.
First on the list was some basic maintenance. We knocked out an oil change and primary fluid change, then turned our attention to the brakes. We tested the system, bled the brakes, and flushed out the old fluid, replacing it with fresh brake fluid.
Once the wrenching was done, we moved on to the really important shop maintenance: pizza and talking motorcycles.
The rest of the day was spent swapping stories about bikes, rides, places we've been, and adventures we've managed to get ourselves into over the years. You know how motorcycle conversations go. One story turns into another, and suddenly you've been talking for hours and somehow haven't solved a single world problem.
But that's part of what Hill City Warriors is about.
Yes, we work on motorcycles. Yes, we help people with maintenance and repairs. But there's another part of this place that's just as important: the people.
Sometimes a motorcycle brings someone through the door, but the friendship is what keeps them coming back.
Welcome to the HCW family, Nate. We're glad you and that Sportster found your way to the shop.
And next time, we're getting more pizza.
